Neopolis (Re)Build in Public: Week 6 — Bilan After 1 Week of New Gameplay
Bilan
D1 Retention
We’re still struggling to achieve solid D1 retention. We’ll start a bit of UA again soon, which should help us identify specific pain points and refine our strategy.
Session Duration
The average session duration per day has almost doubled, jumping from 11 minutes to 19. This is a promising sign that players are more engaged.
Monetization
Our ARPWU (Average Revenue Per Weekly User) has dropped slightly from 0.6 to 0.55. This is actually a positive outcome, as we removed all pay-to-win offers, leaving only “comfort” purchases for players who want some added convenience.
Community Feedback
Most of our hardcore players seem happy with the changes, though they’ve provided a lot of feedback on pain points. We’re seeing fewer negative reviews on the app stores, and with the scale of changes we’ve made, not getting major complaints or insults feels like a win! 😂
In Summary
I think we’re on the right path, and the decisions we’ve made seem solid. However, our D1 retention isn’t where we need it to be, which limits our growth potential and our immediate outlook. The results so far are promising, but not strong enough to secure the game’s survival just yet. For our Web3 monetization plan to succeed, the Web2 foundation of the game needs to be stronger.
This Week’s Objectives
Our primary goals this week are to make further D1 retention improvements, while also working on interface upgrades and game design balancing. Hopefully, we’ll uncover something that helps boost our early retention.
In parallel, we’re exploring an alternative distribution channel that could reduce our acquisition costs. I can’t share more details on this yet, but we’re hopeful it could be a game-changer in terms of user acquisition.
Looking Ahead
We’re optimistic about our progress, but we need a stronger D1 retention, solid gameplay momentum, and effective acquisition strategies to succeed with our Web3 goals. Right now, our data isn’t sufficient, and we have a lot of work ahead.
